Welcome to Fall Girls’ Soccer season! We are Amy Wargo, JW’s Health teacher, and Monica Blake, JW’s 8th grade English teacher. We look forward to meeting with you during the season.
In order to try out, all players must take the IMPACT test, be medically cleared by the school nurse, Mrs. Bihuniak, have signed the Sports-Related Concussion form, and filled out all of the proper paperwork. Please see the JW Athletics webpage to find all of the paperwork you need.
Soccer practices will begin at 3:05 and end at 4:30. Please see our schedule for our practice and game times as well as locations. Required equipment needed are shin guards for soccer. Please make sure they are age appropriate. Our home practices and games will be plated on our fields at JW. Information concerning meets, practices, etc., can be accessed at the JW Athletics page: http://www.jwms.rschoolteams.com/.
We want your child to have a very positive experience in a safe and fun environment, while developing her fitness level through the various soccer drills. As this is a middle school environment, we will tailor our workout so that it is age appropriate. We realize that the girls will be at different skill levels, and we would like to remain competitive as we develop our less experienced players. Please understand that playing time will not always be exactly equal, be we will do our best to get everyone playing time.
If your child is going to miss a practice or a game, for any reason, please email one of use to let us know. And if your child is going to travel home with another parent after an away game, please send us an email or a handwritten note. One travel note is sufficient for the season, if you state that in the note. If you need to contact us with any questions or clarification, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. Email is the easiest way to communicate with us.
We look forward to working with you and your daughters this season, and we appreciate your continued support as we strive to make John Witherspoon soccer team a rich learning and productive experience.
